You start out in the town of Enterprise.
All sizes. No width limits. ATV’s, MC’s, UTV’s, 4x4s on most trails. Near the top trails, narrow overgrowth may damage larger vehicles. A few gates seem quite narrow and our Ranger didn’t have a lot of room to spare.
Mostly dirt roads.
Most Trails have adequate signage

The Hardscrabble OHV trails are located in Washington County Utah adjacent to the town of Enterprise approximately 309 southwest of Salt Lake City Utah. There is plenty of good parking around town. We liked the park near the elementary school. We rode approximately 28 miles of trails and gravel roads but there is a lot more in this trail system. It will take you most of a day to explore this system and it is well worth the trip. There are no services so stock up on anything you need before leaving Enterprise. This is a great place to get away and enjoy some solitude while exploring a seldom seen part of Utah. The riding is pleasant and scenic, trails vary from easy to rough but not particularly difficult.

Where the pavement ends.
For you 50″- folks there is the Ox Valley OHV trail that begins here.
To the left if FR356. We’ll follow it out to the end and return here.
The end …well of this little dead-end. Nice View.
That is our hard left to get on FR855.
We want to stay on FR855 to the left.
If you noticed our gravel road has become significantly more trail-like.
Sticking to FR855 we hang another left.
That is the Shinbone trail to the left. We are going through the gate. Remember to leave them as you find them. This was a tight fit, I’m not sure rigs much larger than our Ranger are getting past this gate.
This is the Blue Springs Hiking trail if you are up for a walk.
This is a bit of a difficult section. It cuts through some clay formation that is sure to be a disaster in wet weather.

Eventually, we climb up the backside of Big Mountain and pop out at the communications towers on top. We will hop on this well-graded road to the left and roll back toward Enterprise.

NOTE: We must ride a 1-mile section of HWY 18 before we can get back on dirt to finish this loop. If you are not street legal you may consider turning around here and heading back the way we came.

I’m not sure how far away these mountains are but they look WAY out there.
After 1 mile we hop back to dirt on FR355, from here we can loop back into Enterprise.
Terry’s Big Springs Ranch is straight ahead, we will hang a left here on FR1022 and then head west on FR778.
Next, we’ll take FR780 right back into town.
That is the road we left Enterprise on, we will follow it back to town.
