- Description
This trail visits Hog Canyon without doing the more extreme trails the canyon is famous for. The obstacles keep coming one after the other. Ledge climbs, off camber hillsides and steep sand hills make for a fun ride. This trail takes you over mountains and through canyons above the town of Kanab. It is a shorter ride, taking just three and a half hours (moving time).
The terrain is mostly comprised of sand and rocky trails.
This trail provides great opportunities to stop, get out and take in the views.
You can also find just about every amenity you need including gas, lodging and food in the town of Kanab.

There is plenty of parking here at the Hog Canyon Trailhead just off of Highway 89.
You can take a small detour at the start of the ride to check out this view of Kanab.
Here is a nice spot to stop and have a picnic with a great view.
This trail takes you on top of mountains, through canyons and across some flats.
There are trail markers along the way to keep you headed in the right direction.
The terrain on this trail is a good mix of sand and slick rock. This is just one example of what you can expect from this ride.
If you stay to the right here, it will take you down to Johnson Canyon to end the ride.
